Solar Panels Cost

When tried to evaluate the worth of a solar energy home or business conversion, you need to know what solar panels cost. To date, the cost has been quite high for installation. The good thing is once the install is completed, there should be very low ongoing costs, depending on your system installed.

You will need to evaluate what is available to you from outside energy sources, such as your local power company and your geographical location. Solar panels cost can greatly range depending on the following points:

  • Initial costs of equipment. If you are able to procure your equipment at wholesale or firesale cost, then you can very affordably install a solar panel installation.
  • Your geographic location. If you are located in an area on our great planet Earth that has very short winter sun days and long summer sun days, you will need to be dependant on your local power company to supplement your power needs in winter months. Also another factor could be how many cloudy days to sunny days do you get. Solar panels are much less effective during cloudy days.
  • Are you on the electrical grid and what is your electricity company policies. This could be a big influencing factor. If you are not on the electrical grid or your electrical company doesn’t yet have a policy for contributing electrical energy to their grid, then you could have problems. This is my current situation. My electrical company charges more in handling charges then in electricity and they as of yet made any provision for individuals who wish to spin their meters backwards.

Solar Panels Cost – Government Grants

Another strong influencing factor to adding solar panels and their associated cost is your local government’s friendliness to solar power. I’ve talked to some individuals who have had a large portion of their solar panels cost covered by government granting.

This one factor alone can make solar panels a plausible for you.

I am currently researching locations for wholesale solar supplies and I believe that it’s only a matter of time before these wholesalers make solar panels cost affordable to all of us.
