How To Build A Solar Panel

photovoltaic-cell-single Learning how to build a solar panel starts with understanding the process that occurs when sunlight interacts with a solar panel. Small panels are covered with photovoltaic cells. The cells can convert sunlight directly into electricity.

The small panels, or modules, are then interconnected together to produce a larger solar panel.

The modules are interconnected in such a fashion to add the overall electrical energy that is generated by each individual module.

If you’d like here’s a video of the whole procedure of how to build a solar panel performed by a commercial solar panel company. It’s quite interesting to watch:

The video goes over the steps performed to take a solar module to a completed solar panel. They further look into the final assembly of framing the joined solar modules.

Finally, they show their testing procedures to ensure proper quality control.

Even though this technique may be just a bit out of our league, it illustrates the ease that these companies put together the panels and thus we can easily learn how to build a solar panel with the proper instruction.

…you would literally assembly all of your solar panel needs within a day or two

I think that thing that struck me the most was that they mention at the end of the video, that the construction of a panel only takes about one hour.

If you were mass producing many panels for your home, you would literally assembly all of your solar panel needs within a day or two.

One thing that I do recommend is to test your units extensively at each step of the assembly process to ensure everything is one hundred percent.

Nothing is worse than assembling a unit and then finding out that there is a faulty join or faulty solar module. Either case could completely ruin your work on a single solar cell panel.

So, I would recommend that you look into learning how to build a solar panel.

Simply because of the potential energy savings, I think you’d pay yourself back several times over for the two or three days at most that you spend assembling your own solar panel units.
